Research Interests: Semiconductor Optoelectronics and Quantum Optics

Biography: Farhan Rana is currently Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Cornell University. He obtained his PhD, MS and BS from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His research interests are in semiconductor optoelectronics and quantum optics, specifically physics and engineering challenges at the very small scales in both space (micro and nano optics) and time (ultrafast optics). He has over 25 journal and conference publications, and some of his awards include the National Science Foundation's Young Presidential Investigator award and the Sindh Government Gold Medal.
