Biography: Shahid Masud received his B.Sc. Electrical Engg. from EME College Rawalpindi (1990), M.Eng.Sc. degree in Electronics from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia (1992) and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engieneering from Queen's University, Belfast, UK (1999). He has been a receipient of prestigious AIDAB EMSS scholarship (Australia) and Commonwealth Scholarship (UK). He was a Senior Design Engineer at Amphion Semiconductor Ltd. UK, (now Conexant Inc.) before joining LUMS in October 2002. He has several years of research and development experience in the design of VLSI systems for image and video coding and computer interfacing. He has published over forty refereed papers internationally and holds three patents in VLSI design. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, MIET and a Chartered Engineer.
