Tenure-Track Faculty Positions |
LUMS School of Science and
Engineering is seeking outstanding scientists
and engineers committed to excellence in undergraduate
and graduate education and capable of developing
independent research programs. Applications
are invited for both full-time and visiting
faculty positions and from junior as well
as senior faculty members in all areas of
science and engineering. We offer candidates
an opportunity to have significant impact,
participating in building the first private
research university in Pakistan, and conducting
nationally and globally relevant research.
Both tenure earning and tenured positions
will be considered. We offer competitive salaries
and attractive research support.
Candidates for full-time faculty positions
should hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate
discipline. Appointments will be in one of
the following departments, but candidates
from other disciplines with closely related

The references
should be people with PhDs engaged in
academics directly or indirectly to
be able to comment on the candidate’s
research abilities. For example, industry
references could be chief scientists
or chief technology officers rather
than CEOs or CFOs. Candidates should
also indicate their relationship with
the reference (PhD supervisor, teacher,
company supervisor, etc) and may want
to let the references know that a member
of the search committee may contact
them. |

Human Resource (Junior) Executive |
Work will involve coordinating
and developing efficient HR processes, generating
periodic reports and assisting in HR reviews.
The position offers opportunity for contributing
considerably towards developing strategic
HR policies and procedures and has tremendous
prospects for growth. Individuals should have
a 4-year bachelor's degree or a traditional
master's degree in management or social sciences.
The candidate should have excellent communication
and organizational skills, be meticulous,
be a problem solver and have sound leadership
skills. Proficiency in MS Office is a must,
knowledge of MS Access will be a plus.
Salary will depend on the individuals' abilities
and experience.

Administrative Assistant |
Duties will involve set-up
and maintenance of grant budgets, service
contracts, procurement and other bookkeeping
tasks for newly forming departmental offices
at LUMS SSE. In addition, the individual will
assist with grant preparation, progress reports
and with arrangements for lectures, seminars
and meetings. Applicants should have a B.Com
or equivalent. Basic computer skills are highly
desirable.
Salary will depend on the individuals' abilities
and experience.
