LUMS School of
Science and Engineering is seeking
outstanding scientists and engineers
committed to excellence in undergraduate
and graduate education and capable
of developing independent research
programs. Applications are invited
for both full-time and visiting
faculty positions and from junior
as well as senior faculty members
in all areas of science and engineering.
We offer candidates an opportunity
to have significant impact, participating
in building the first private research
university in Pakistan, and conducting
nationally and globally relevant
research. Both tenure earning and
tenured positions will be considered.

Candidates for full-time faculty
positions should hold a doctoral
degree in an appropriate discipline.

with PhDs engaged in academics
directly or indirectly to
be able to comment on the
candidate’s research abilities.
For example, industry references
could be chief scientists

rather than CEOs or CFOs.
Candidates should also indicate
their relationship with
the reference (PhD supervisor,
teacher, company supervisor,
etc) and may want to let
the references know that
a member of the search committee

Laboratory Engineer |
Candidates should hold an M.Sc. in chemistry, with a special aptitude and interest in maintaining laboratory equipment. Exceptional 4-year B.S. (or equivalent) degree holders can also be considered. Additional responsibilities will include interacting with students and ensuring that their needs are met.

Laboratory Technician |
Candidates should hold a 4-year B.S. degree in chemistry, physics, mathematics or chemistry, physics and biology. Exceptional 2-year B.Sc. (or equivalent) degree holders can also be considered. Responsibilities include maintaining the chemical stock room, dispensing chemicals to students and researchers, running glassware washing machines, and handling general housekeeping on the chemistry floor. Work experience in a laboratory setting would be preferred. Laboratory Technicians will be reporting directly to Lab Engineers.
