Research Interests: Advanced materials, Environment specifically water quality, Coated catalysts for fuel cells

Biography: Dr. Tayyaba Asim completed her Ph. D (2008), M.Phil (2002) and M.Sc (2000) degrees in Physical Chemistry from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, and accomplished the research work for Ph.D and M.Phil at Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH) as well as Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). Her research work was primarily focused on environmental studies for improving water quality, for which she developed certain effective materials, which could adsorb the toxic trace metals from water making it fit for drinking. As a further extension to her work, she also developed modified carbon-based catalysts using nano-technology to be used efficiently in fuel cells. Their efficiency was demonstrated by determining the thermodynamic parameters. Dr. Tayyaba has presented her work on many national and international chemistry forums.
